We did it! This is the view from the street infront of Angela's new home. It is located in a really neat little village type area called Hollywoodland. All kinds of actors and artist live up here in the
"canyon". Marylin Monroe's first apartment is across the street from Angela's apt. Every hour of the day, tourists stop in the street and all pile out to take pictures of the Hollywood sign. I told Angie, there has to be a way to make a few $ with this...:-)
The trip was totally uneventfull. The Little Jeep Liberty turned out to be an amazing tow vehicle. The 3.7 V6 engine is a real monster. Pulled that trailer up 7% grades with no issues. Very impressive. We averaged about 17mpg the entire trip with cruise control set at 65mph.
Angela and Alfi were excellent travel companions. Too bad the weather didn't cooperate and we were not able to tour the Colorado rockies like we had planned. But we did do a section of Rt66 that Seth and I missed on our Rt66 tour a few years ago.

Ortman AZ is a very interesting place on Rt66. Out in the middle or nowhere, up a very precarious trail (and pulling the trailer made it even MORE interesting).

This town is famous for haveing dozens of wild burros that escaped years ago from the Gold Miners, waling around the streets and even going into the shops and stores in the area. But, our luck would have it that not one burro was in town! Bummer.....But a good reason to return someday.

Last night we went to walk around Hollywood Blvd. In front of the theater where they film the Jimmy Kimmel a producer approached me to see if I'd be interested in appearing in a skit called " Keep What You Catch"......Where they throw various items off the roof and you try to catch them. But when it was "Show Time", I didn't make the final cut........Darn, "That part was ME!"

So that's it for the 2009 Trans Continent, 3404 miles, trailer towing, Angie relocating Boston to Hollywood Tour...........................
