I've not spent much time in Colorado. A few business meetings in Denver over the years and I cut acroos the south eastern corner this past October on a mpotorcycle, returning from Arizona. What I have seen of the state has been spectacular.
Today we drove from mid Missouri all the way to Colorado Springs. That is one long ride!
We are now at the Travel Lodge at the base of Pikes Peak.
The weather cooperated today. Beautiful blue skies and temps in the 50s.
But it's not looking good for a trip through the mountains tomorrow. I had planned on taking Rt 24W to Rt50W through Gunnison and over to Montrose and then down Rt 550 to Durango. But the weather forecast is calling for up to 4 inches of snow and pulling a trailer through those mountain passes in the snow might be more than we bargained for. I might have to hightail it down 25 to Walsenburg and across Rt160 to Durango and then down through Utah..........We'll see.
