Colorado Springs to "Standing on a corner in Winslow, Arizona"

....and PACIFIC time zone!!Woohoo! I am in a hotel room in Winslow Arizona. The town made famous by the Eagles singing "well I'm standing on a corner in WinslowArizona...." I happen to know that ditty from my stint working at Costco wholesale, and the giant flatscreen that played the Eagles live in concert for 1.5 years directly behind me. A pain shared only by the woman in the Winslow Arizona store selling Eagles knick-knacks with a giant flatscreen and Eagles DVD in front of her.

It actually is a pretty cool thing here. The town has re-created the scene of Jackson Browne standing on corner. Alfie and I tried it out.

Before Winslow we woke up this morning in Colorado Springs. The plan was to go over the Rockies , but that area had a huge storm today that forced us south. We drove through New Mexico and stopped in Santa Fe for lunch. I loved loved the adobe architecture and how artsy and quaint everything is. Santa Fe is also the home of famed painter(the late?) Georgia O'Keefe. See 4 years of art school pays off. :) Alfie loved today also because he got to get out the car and stretch his legs.

We are going to drive about 10 hours tomorrow to get us into Hollywood a day earlier!!! I am very excited to finally arrive and get settled.
