"Historically" long day

Our day began back on the Lincoln Highway winding through southern Pennsylvania. We ended up having breakfast in Gettysburg. I had to take a picture of the most perfect egg and toast breakfast I have ever had courtesy of the Runk's Kickin' Kitchen.

After breakfast we strolled around downtown Gettysburg. What an amazing place this is. You feel as though you are walking through a Disney backlot. It's a wonder how such a beautiful town was filled with tragedy and horror back in 1863. Since I don't remember my old history classes too well, my Dad was reminding me that approx. 50,000 men died over that weekend. It really is a great place to visit and to witness our history where that all happened.

A block down the road we spotted Honest Abe himself. He called me over to help review his Gettysburg address. I think I did it some justice.

We are now in Lexington, KY after a long day of driving. Alfie is O-U-T and I'm sure wondering by now what the heck is going on. I also included a picture of him trying to "jump"to me from the back seat. This has been happening all day. I finally give in and offer him my lap for most of the day, c'mon you would too he's just too cute!

More tomorrow...
